Q: Can you box with a beard or a moutache if your religion requires you not to shave?
A: After much argument regarding this topic, the ABAE has decided to follow the AIBA Rules of Boxing:
2.3.3.2. A boxer shall be clean-shaved before the medical examination and before the weigh-in.
Beards and moustaches are not allowed. No type of body piercing and no body accessories are allowed to be worn during a bout.
Q: Are there any age restriction for boxers?
A: A boxer can compete from 11 years old and must retire from competition on his 40th birthday.
Q: Can you hold a Coach's Badge and still box?
A: Active boxers may qualify and act as a coach. They shall not participate in both capacities at the same tournament.
